Plot:

When best friends Shawna and Tara arrive for what seems like a straightforward audition, they’re thrust into a nightmare of increasingly bizarre improv scenarios. The director barks absurd commands from the darkness while their scene partner, Dave, crashes every take, a complete and utter buffoon from start to finish. 

Shawna’s immediately over it. Tara, on the other hand, is determined to white-knuckle a role out of this audition no matter how much humiliation it demands.

As the “audition” spirals into pure chaos, with Dave’s interruptions growing more unhinged and the director’s prompts more incomprehensible, Tara finally snaps. But nothing is what it seems, and this theatrical mindfuck gives Tara precisely the sort of cathartic destruction she didn’t know she needed.

Sometimes the best way to help a friend is to let them burn it all down.

Shawna: (mid 30s to early 40s) An experienced actor and lovable chaos goblin. The best friend who has orchestrated this entire fake audition as an elaborate intervention, partly to teach Tara to stop taking shit from men, partly to convince her to pursue a career in literally anything else.

The Director: (eternal) The mysterious voice from the darkness of the auditorium barking increasingly absurd improv prompts at our hapless actresses. Are they a god? A ghost? A household cleaning implement masquerading as a human being? No one really knows.
